FPU 2026 PhD Fellowships – Join CHEMOSENS!

The CHEMOSENS Research Group at Universitat Rovira i Virgili (URV) is looking for motivated candidates interested in applying for an FPU 2026 predoctoral fellowship to pursue a PhD in Analytical Chemistry.

The FPU programme offers competitive, four-year predoctoral contracts that combine doctoral research with university teaching experience.

Our Research

At CHEMOSENS, we develop innovative analytical solutions by combining analytical chemistry, advanced instrumentation and data analysis.

Our main research areas include:

• Chemometrics & Qualimetrics: Multivariate data analysis, machine learning, spectroscopy and analytical quality.

• Instrumental Sensometry: Food quality, aroma, fermentation and agri-food applications.

• Nanosensors: Chemical sensing, electrochemistry, iontronics and multiplex sensing.

Candidates will have the opportunity to develop a research proposal aligned with their interests and the group's expertise.

What the FPU Programme Offers

• A four-year predoctoral contract to complete a PhD.

• Total programme funding of €143,350 per fellowship.

• Funding provisions for research stays and doctoral enrolment.

• Opportunities to gain university teaching experience.

• The possibility of up to 12 months of postdoctoral orientation within the four-year period, subject to programme conditions.

Who We're Looking For

We are looking for enthusiastic candidates with a strong academic background in Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, Food Science, Biotechnology or related disciplines.

• Motivation to conduct scientific research and develop innovative analytical solutions.

• Curiosity, initiative and willingness to learn.
