Full Professor

Degree in Chemical Sciences from the University of Barcelona (1988) and PhD in Chemistry from Rovira i Virgili University (1994). Since July 2021, Head of the Department of Analytical Chemistry and Organic Chemistry at Rovira i Virgili University.

Researcher in the Chemometrics and Sensorics for Analytical Solutions (CHEMOSENS) group at URV, recognized since 1995 as a Consolidated Research Group by the Research Department of the Government of Catalonia (SGR). Participation, with responsibility, in the development and implementation of competitive research projects and research networks: 8 funded by the European Union, 10 national projects, 14 regional projects and 3 projects funded by private organizations. Sole participant from the group and principal investigator of the European PRAXIS project. I am currently participating in / responsible for three projects. One national project: "Improving agricultural monitoring in the face of climate change: integration of spectroscopic techniques with machine learning for the control of olive and grape production" (PID2024-156237OB-C31). One regional project: Indústria del Coneixement 2025, "Universal standardization for the determination of microplastics" (MICROSTAND). At international level, I am responsible for one Erasmus+ KA171 project from the 2025 call, through which we have been awarded 16 mobility grants with the University of Gondar, Ethiopia.

My research lines focus on the development of analytical methodologies involving the application and validation of chemometric techniques. Throughout my career, I have supervised 7 doctoral theses and I am currently supervising 1 PhD thesis (started 10_2024) and 1 postdoctoral researcher (started 10_2025). Number of indexed articles: 72; recognized research periods: 5 (latest 2016_2021); teaching periods: 5 (latest 2017_2021); and management periods: 3 (latest 2024).
