We are offering a PhD position in Analytical Chemistry within the framework of the Spanish National R&D Plan 2024-2027 (Plan Estatal de Investigación Científica, Técnica y de Innovación).
The Project
Join a multidisciplinary team of researchers from URV (Chemosens group), UPC, and IRTA (Mas Bové, Constantí).
Our goal: to evaluate how algae-based biostimulants can help vineyards and olive trees cope with climate change.
You'll combine field and laboratory experiments with advanced analytical techniques such as:

Physiological measurements in leaves and fruits

Rapid, non-destructive spectroscopic and imaging techniques

Data analysis and chemometric modelling
What We Offer

A full-time predoctoral contract for up to 4 years (1 + 3 renewals).

Start date between January 1 and June 1, 2026.

Who We're Looking For
We're looking for a motivated candidate with a Master's degree (or equivalent) in Chemistry, Olive Oil Technology (Elaiotechnology), Food Science, Biochemistry, Enology, Biotechnology, or a related field, eager to learn and contribute to a project with real impact.
We value:

Experience in laboratory work, spectroscopy, or chromatography.

Interest in data analysis and experimental work.

Team spirit and motivation to tackle agricultural sustainability challenges.

Intermediate level of English (Catalan or Spanish is a plus).
